E2 Visa – Gustav Brings Swedish Grade Education
We all know that the Swedish Education system is phenomenal amongst the highest in the world, so when Gustav said he wanted to take over an early learning center in North Carolina this could only be a great thing for the local community.
I’ll let Gustav tell his own story, but what I like to say is that Gustav was a great client who had done his homework on the E2 visa. Finding out as much as you can about the E2 visa from our website whether it’s from our educational videos or from the testimonials of our other clients is a great way to prepare yourself for the plunge you’re about to make. Out goal is to make the process as professional as possible so that you can get all of the support you need, when you need it.
Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about the entities of your business
I grew up in Hedemora, Dalarna about two hours from Stockholm. I have lived in Stockholm now for the last 10 years. My mission is to develop the best preschool program for families living in New Jersey and commuting into NYC on a daily basis.
Have you ever lived in the US before? If so, under what circumstances? If not, what aroused your interest in a move to the US?
I stayed for 6 months in Chapel Hill in North Carolina doing an exchange semester at the MBA program at Keenan Flagler, UNC. This period of my life has definitely colored me and made me appreciate the US way of life. Since then I have made many vacation trips to the US further inspiring my move.
How did you decide to pursue and E2 Visa?
After working in investment banking for many years in Stockholm I reached the point where I wanted a change in my life. This led me to start looking into doing my own business. After many hours of googling I realized the E2 visa was a good option that could enable me doing a small scale business in the US.
What was your experience with the E2 Visa process? Did you ever consider giving up? What was your motivation to keep pressing on?
The process was very lengthy and at times quite tiresome. Especially since you have to do everything from another country and in my case another time zone. I had decided that I wanted to do this so giving up was never an option.
What kind of relationship did/do you have with Chris (and his team)?
I found the team at Chris M Ingram to be very professional and helpful in answering questions and guiding me to the end result. Obtaining the E2 visa. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to start the process.
What was your immediate reaction upon being approved at the U.S embassy by the adjudicating officer? How did you celebrate?
Hahaha I was tired and very satisfied but I also realized obtaining the visa is just the first step in actually completing the move.
What are you looking forward to most about your move to the US?
Spend more time with my girlfriend that lives in NYC already and also a change in scenery.
What do you think you will miss the most when you leave your home abroad?
The food and the moose hunt in the fall. But there’s nothing preventing my to fly back to participate in the moose hunt the coming fall….
