E2 Visa – Sahila’s 5-Twelve Store
My name is Sahila and I am from the UK. I am married and have 2 children, aged 7 and 11. I am currently working within the banking sector in the UK. Our love affair with the US started when we visited family there. As we visited the US for family holidays our desire grew stronger, I mean how can you not fall in love with Disney Land, Florida! We finally got to that point where it was now or never so without even knowing what visa we’d need we Googled what the process was if we wanted to pursue a business venture within the US. On reading the information available to us it became apparent we needed to apply for an E2 Visa. Continued below….
On reading the information about an E2 visa, the process did initially look quite complex. We searched on-line to see which company we could use to help us get an E2 visa. There were a number of results the search engine produced. We decided to go with The Law Offices of Chris M Ingram due to their reviews and testimonials. Can you believe it, now I’m one of their poster clients too.
Right from the initial conversation with Chris Ingram’s law firm the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They told me exactly what the process would involve and the timescales involved. They new what they were talking about! Which was a massive relief for me as what turned into, what I thought would be a complex process, turned into to a relatively straightforward process through the help and support of Chris Ingram’s Law firm. I also found having a dedicated caseworker focused on my case and having them as the point of contact made the process smoother.
The Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram has another website for clients only where they can upload all of the required documents and they provide a complete online suite of resources of tutorial videos and a guides so that you have support 24/7 – its absolutely fantastic. I found them so useful and user friendly. I received great customer service from their legal team too throughout.
The E2 visa can be a lengthy process, but with the ongoing support given by Chris Ingram’s law firm you carry on. As long as you are able to provide all the necessary documentation you should have no problems. When it came to the business plan I got help from the law firm’s sister company E2 Visa Business Services LLC who are specialists in writing E2 visa business plans, also they can help you find a business if you need help there too.
The Embassy Interview – When you are called for your Embassy interview, it is done via Email. I would say READ the email and cross off each action that the embassy has outlined prior to going to the interview. If you do not have all the information requested on the email, the interview will be rescheduled. You can now take mobile phones with you into the embassy. You cannot take laptops or other forms of electronic devises. However there is a pharmacy, called Gould Pharmacy, which is about 3-5 minute walk from the embassy and for a small charge they can hold your laptops etc. until your interview has finished.
I would also recommend you get to the embassy about 30-45 minutes before your appointment time as it can get very busy. We got there 45 minutes before our 8:00 interview and we were out of the embassy by 9:20. Dress smartly and have all your paperwork with you. Top Tip – read your Business Plan again in detail the night before!
My family and I were issued with a 5-year E2 visa. I remember when the interviewing officer told us he had granted the Visa – I asked him to repeat himself, because I thought I had misheard him. We were so Happy…. and we just had BIG smile on our faces leaving the embassy. We celebrated with a meal at our favorite restaurant!
This is a really exciting time for my family and I – this has been a long Dream in the making. I’m now looking forward to taking my business plans forward and to start my new business venture in America. My kids are also excited on the move and looking forward on making some new friends in the states. I have my family here in the UK, my mum, brothers and sister, so of course I will miss my family. But they’re already planning their holiday for next year to come to America!
I would tell anybody applying for an E2 Visa to contact The Law Offices of Chris M Ingram! From my personal experience it was initially daunting because I never got to see these people face to face. I paid them some money up front and I had provided them with all my personal and financial details – so it can be a little nervous without the face-to-face contact. However it was the best decision for my family and me. I would highly recommend Chris Ingram’s law firm for their professionalism, expertise and friendliness.
…AND the journey does not end here, Mr. Ingram has made it quite clear that he and his team are always available to talk to should I need any further assistance or have any further queries over the next 5 years.
E2 Visa Success – many of our E2 visa applicants and men bringing their families so it’s always refreshing when you get a bold entrepreneurial woman taking the plunge. Sahila is a woman with big dreams for America. Having bought into a family self-made franchise called 5-12 (5am to 12 midnight) convenience store with five branches already and growing you could say that she has joined a winning team. Sahila’s comes from a banking background and thus as this chain of stores expends her expertise in finance will become an ever valuable asset.
The message here is this: you might want to buy or start one business but it well may have the opportunity to turn into a chain or franchise. I guess it’s up to you as to how big you want your empire to get. For Sahila’s husband it means he can immediately qualify for a work permit and continue on in his career too. The E2 is a great visa because it gives each family the opportunity to create their own dream on their own terms, no hoping to get a job offer or worries about losing that job and visa if the company changes direction. With the E2 visa you are in full control of your own destiny. What would you like to do?
