EB1 Success – Guillermo Brings Groundbreaking Green Technology to the US
Guillermo was a superstar from the start. While still completing his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering in Argentina, he began his career by accepting a job with a paints manufacturer. Twenty years later, Guillermo is known worldwide as an international expert working in the energy, steel, mining and chemical industries.
Traveling the world, developing steel-pipe connections and new steels, as well as ensuring environmental compliance was not enough for Guillermo, who believes in life-long learning.
“Although I did enjoy the technical problems I was solving for the different companies I have worked for in my career, I also wanted to understand how the businesses were actually being run,” Guillermo said. “This is why, in 2000, I decided to pursue a Master in Business Administration at the University of Texas in Austin.”
American in Spirit
Guillermo’s time at the University of Texas was not his first trip to the United States, and his love for the US started much earlier. When Guillermo was a young man in the 1980s, he participated in an exchange program that exposed Guillermo to the United States and ignited the life-long desire to be a part of the United States.
“The people’s warmth, the feeling of purpose, the pride in the colors, they all had a big impact in my psyche,” Guillermo said. “That was probably the first time I felt myself becoming an American in spirit.”
Despite spending a number of years in the United States on various non-immigrant visas and having two American-born sons, Guillermo’s journey toward permanent residency did not start until May 2013, when he had a discussion with Chris M. Ingram.
“After having spoken with two other lawyers about my case, I had my first interview with Chris in May 2013,” Guillermo said. “Immediately, I detected his breadth and depth of knowledge and experience about US immigration processes.”
Realizing a Lifelong Dream of US Permanent Residency
After working with Chris for nearly six months, Guillermo remembers the day that he heard the news that he had been granted permanent residence in the United States.
“It was a Tuesday morning, and right before breakfast, as is my custom, I headed to my home office to check my e-mail for news,” Guillermo remembers. “I was almost knocked off my feet the moment I found an email from Chris containing the good news about the approval of my EB1 Green Card.”
Guillermo has since settled in the Houston, Texas, area with his family, and is working for a mining company, allowing the US to benefit from his multitude of talents.
Perhaps you, too, have always felt a kinship with the American way of life and would like to explore your options for permanent residency. If so, call us today and we can get started.
