March 2010 Newsletter – US Immigration Fortunes Are Changing – Part 1 of 3 *

Don’t miss out in 2010 – There has never been a better time to finally make that move to realize your American Dream – Find out Why.

Are You Ready for Change?  I can’t believe it’s March already.  The first eight weeks have flown by and we’ve been incredibly busy. I mean 2008 busy. It feels like a long winter has broken.  What we’ve been experiencing is that our readers are seeing enough of an opportunity to seize it now before everything becomes way too expensive again.

So what are these opportunities? Interest rates are still at an all time low and so are property prices. Of course this will all change as the American economy gathers pace. House prices will quickly begin to sky-rocket and interest rates will start to climb. The one thing I’ve learned about America during my ten years living here is that once you miss an economic cycle it’s gone for years. The American economy is like a freight train, once it gets back on track there’s no stopping it for a long while. Maybe 6-8 years later the economy will pause then “The American Dream Express” is off again – you don’t want to miss that train. The opportunity is – getting on board during these infrequent pauses.

Whether you buy an established business or set up you own we can certainly help plain the whole thing out. An essential key is to build a team of advisors around you who can really work with you.

The Return of the E2 Visa: Our practice has seen a burst of energy over the last eight weeks from clients who are ready to buy or start their own businesses using the E2 Treaty Investor Visa as their vehicle. The E2 visa in 2008 probably represented about 35%- 45% of our entire practice, as family after family (tired of waiting for “sponsorship”) decided to take their future into their own hands.

Although I got my green card through employment sponsorship, as soon as I had the opportunity myself  I set up my own practice in 2003. It has been quite an adventure building something from scratch and seeing it grow and thrive through challenging economic conditions.  I certainly have an affinity with clients taking their American dream by the scruff of the neck, risking everything they’ve built up at home and put it all on the line. Parents are making these bold decisions for not just their own careers, but for their children’s future. It’s truly marvelous.

We have had a lot of clients start their E2 process and then had to put things on hold because of the severity of the economic down turn, but almost every day we get calls from them saying that they’re ready to re-start their cases. Is it time for you to get off the sidelines?  I guess only you can make that huge decision. Get in touch with us and be inspired to take that leap of faith because that’s what it is. We’re very active and motivated and ready to welcome you on board.

The L-1A visa is one of the best visas to go for if you have the opportunity. Next stop green card and this can happen very quickly indeed.

L1-A Intra-Company Transfers: These are people who have an opportunity to expand their UK or foreign companies and start new branches in the US. They are also people who are employees of foreign companies at the management level  and now have an opportunity to transfer to a US branch.  The L-1A Intracompany Transfer visa is another cornerstone of our practice that has definitely bounced back this year.  Already we have been congratulating quite a few clients on their recent L-1A approval.

Please take a moment to read up on the L-1A visa  as this visa really is one of the very best to go for if your circumstances fit the required profile.  In a nutshell, L-1A visa holders can apply for their green cards after just 60 days after arrival in the US if they are transferring to an established business, and after just 12 months if they have been successful in setting up their own business. It can take many years to get to a green card on some of the other employment visa options. Once you have read our L-1A guide if you feel that this could be an opportunity for you then waste no time in getting in touch for a consultation.
