I’m delighted to be bringing back our Newsletter; it’s been a long time coming.  So what’s been happening in the world of US Immigration?  What’s happening with the much-anticipated Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill? In this newsletter I’ll be covering US Immigration news and bringing you up to speed with various events that have happened recently or happening very soon.

Office News:

As you know I work with clients from all over the world, although because of my British roots the bulk of my clients are coming from the UK and Ireland. My office for the last ten years has been based in Valencia, Los Angeles. Having my office is great but I only get to see about 10% of my clients in person because they are relocating all over America from coast to coast. Over the years I’ve built up a small but impressive cluster of clients who work in the Entertainment Industry and they mainly work around the Santa Monica area of Los Angels, and just like the M25 belt that surrounds London my LA clients never really liked coming all the way up to Valencia which in truth is only about 35 mile north of LA’s main airport.  So October 1^st 2010 we upped sticks and set up a new virtual office in Santa Monica to better serve this community.

H1-B Visa Success - To Chris, Viv. Eva & staff, - Thank you so much for all your support and excellent work in getting my work visa for the USA. I am sooo impressed, 15 weeks from job offer to having my visa in my hand, that's amazing. Thank you also for the 'human touch' addressing all my concerns and worries along the way, you have all been so understanding. I will most definitely use you guys again (as soon as I get there we have to start on getting my daughter organized). I look forward to meeting you all in person.Much appreciation

Since moving there I’ve had clients from the TV and Film world take meetings and it is really working with clients who are working on blockbuster films such as the latest installment of the Fast and the Furious series Fast 5.  Working with Award winning clients is a great but every day I’m still working with clients who are looking to forge their American Dream through what ever visa best fit them.[ See O1 Visas and EB1 Green Cards]

Also around October 1^st we launched our latest Client Case Management System. For those of you who are clients you are by now all to familiar with this feature but for those who are looking to retain our services soon, you’re in for a treat. Basically, since 2006 we designed our own proprietary software where client could monitor their cases online 24/7.  They’d be able to monitor all the emails being exchanged and see the list of the document requirement changed from red (outstanding) to green (document received and approved) and then when all of the line items had turned green they’d know they case was ready to be filed. However to get us the documents we needed they would have to email them in or mail them in, then it would take time for our team to print and insert these documents into the clients file.  The new and improved case management system enables clients to directly upload all of their documents to their case file and view them.

This is so much faster because the moment the document is uploaded my team is notified and we can review the document right away. It also means that when all the documents are in, forms completed and Counsel brief written, the client can review the entire case as it is filed.  Further more, as and when we get any correspondence from US Immigration we can simply upload the letter or approval directly to the online case file for the client’s kind perusal.

This new upgrade has only been up less than two months but is already having a dramatic and positive impact our clients and my firm as a whole. We’re really pleased with its performance. We have additional features in store for 2011 that we can’t wait to produce such as video presentations so that when a client wants to understand a particular issue they can check our my video library and click on the one that deals with their issues. The goal here is that if you need clarification on a certain point and it’s not office hours you can watch the video.

I’m convinced that if you’re driven to provide the best possible service, you must continue to evolve, exploring new and innovative ways of communication.  US Immigration can be a very stressful exercise, but if I can provide you with answers to your questions in a variety of ways 24/7 then this is certainly a step in the right direction.
