Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about what you do.

I was born and raised in India. As soon as I completed my Bachelor’s degree in India, I came to United States to pursue my Masters in Computer Science. Right after my masters I started working with very different companies. Currently I’m working as a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer for a medical device company in Silicon Valley, CA.

I have extensive experience in developing data warehouses, ETL, cubes and reports using the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack also passionate about Data Analytics and predictive models

Amar has extensive experience in  using the Microsoft Business Intelligence

How did you work your way up the ranks to reach your level and what were some of the challenges along the way.

From past three to four years, I been spending good amount of time apart from daily office working hours on reading and going over new technologies and implementing some interesting personal projects.

Have you ever lived in the US before? If so, under what circumstances? If not, what aroused your interest in a move to the US?

Yes, I came to US to pursue my Masters in 2007 and then Started working as a IT professional on H1 B Visa.

How did you decide to pursue an EB1?

I already have an EB-2 Approved with my current employer and was waiting from 2013 for Visa number to be Current. Unfortunately for Country like India, the wait time is over a Decade. With no changes happening to Current Green Card Laws and with huge backlogs I strongly believe that EB-2/EB-2 approvals are only helpful for extending H1-B beyond 6 years and not really useful to get your Green Card on time.

That’s where I started looking around other options. In fact, I was so lucky that I came across a testimonial from Chris Ingram’s website who got his EB1-A approved with IT background. Till then Like most of us I was in the impression that EB1-A is only for Internationally known people and PhD Scientist’s.

That’s where I contacted Chris law firm and came to know that I can satisfy 2 out of 10 Categories at that point and can work on 3rd category to build my case.

Amar worked as the Senior Business Intelligence Engineer for the Invisalign

What was your experience with the EB1 petition process?

Overall my process went smooth like I anticipated. But, took little longer than I thought. After my initial consultation with Chris Law office, I started working on one of key category of publishing scholarly articles in reputed journals.

I had to spend lot of time to pick a subject that can be published on top journals like red gate as they always except the stuff which should not be found anywhere else. Even the editorial process took little longer time to get these articles published.

What were some of the challenges you had to work on in the preparation of your case, for example evidence gathering?

The challenges that I faced are only at the beginning of my EB1-A process like satisfying the third category for publishing articles. Rest of time I was very comfortable in providing any kind of documentation like referral letters and employment letters..etc.

What kind of relationship did/do you have Chris and his team?

I had a very good relationship with whole Team especially with Angie and Alicia that I worked mostly with. I personally liked the way Angie worked as she was my intake specialist she was the one who understood my credentials initially and helped me in enrolling to Chris law firm. She was very proactive and will be on the top of addressing any concern that I had on my file.

Chris knows in and out of the Immigration system, especially the content he wrote on his website on EB1-A category’s we cannot find elsewhere and any one with no immigration knowledge can easily understand all these EB1-A category’s.

I had a chance to review my case before submitting to USCIS. I was very happy with the work that Chris and his team has done on my file. The most important and critical part of an EB1-A case depends on how you present it to USCIS officer. Chris and team had done an excellent job on that part.

Throughout my file, I noticed that they addressed every piece of EB1-A memorandum as required by Law and showcased how my categories satisfies EB1-A Criteria’s, this will definite help the adjuster to approved the case right-out without giving any RFE’s.

What were you doing when you found out you were approved? What was your immediate reaction? How did/will you celebrate?

I filed my case with premium processing and was expecting results within 15 calendar days (before 21st December). I was tired of looking for status on website and waiting for email/SMS alerts which never came within 15 days.

I thought USICIS may have delayed the process because of holidays. But, on 23rd December afternoon I went to Costco to buy some stuff. That’s where I received an image and call on my cell phone from my wife saying that you received a mail from USCIS that petition was approved. I didn’t believe until I came home and saw the approval notice.

There was some issue going on that week on USCIS Case status website and my petition was approved on 19th and took few days to get the mail.

The approval of my case was right on-time before the Year End holidays, enjoyed all the holidays with family and friends.

What are you looking forward to most about moving to the US?

US is always a land of opportunities and Being able to work and live permanently in the US.

What will you miss the most about your home country?

    Family and Culture.

What advice would you give to any immigrant considering an EB1 or who is already in the process?

Lot of people who are especially working with IT background have an impression that EB1-A is only for Internationally known people and PhD Scientist’s which is not True. EB1-A is a difficult case to win compared to other categories but it’s not impossible.

If you really considering this option, I would recommend going over the EB1-A articles that you can find on http://www.breakthroughusa.com/ and then list out all the highlight of your life achievements in a way that satisfies the EB1 criteria.

Also, I would recommend you to consult a good EB1-A attorney like Chris for your initial evaluation.

Even though we think we have very good credentials for EB1-A category the most important and critical part is how you present the case for USCIS which will be possible only with top EB1-A attorneys like Chris.

In order to qualify for an EB1 Green Card you need to be able to satisfy three from a list of ten categories. We’ve provided informative videos on each category for your kind perusal so please review them and get back to us if you feel we can help you.
