A further visit a few months later confirmed his desire and decision to make the move with his family. Gopala turned to us when he was ready to change from a H1-B to an EB1 visa after knocking on the doors of other attorneys who said he simply didn’t qualify. Here’s his experience of the process to success!

EB1 – Gopala discovering land of opportunities
Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about what you do.
I’m from India and have been working as an IT professional for 20 years. My main fields of applications are cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science.
How did you work your way up the ranks to reach your level and what were some of the challenges along the way.
After working in multiple areas and disciplines, I ended up as principal architect within my industry, with mostly US based clients.
Have you ever lived in the US before? If so, under what circumstances? If not, what aroused your interest in a move to the US?
I flew to America for the first time on a two month long business trip to meet clients. It was then I came to understand the kind of opportunities available in the US in comparison to India.
How did you decide to pursue an EB1?
I didn’t believe the EB1 was a viable possibility for me until speaking with The Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram. Everyone else I spoke with said I would need a PhD or major awards in order to qualify. Chris gave me confidence that my case was a good fit.
What was your experience with the EB1 petition process?
It was easy with the help of Chris and his team. They walked me through the whole process step by step and guided me in the right direction. They have done a wonderful job, in an excellent manner that ultimately increased my chances of success.
What were some of the challenges you had to work on in the preparation of your case, for example evidence gathering?
The reference letters were the biggest challenge; waiting patiently for those who took a long time to send it through. Everything else I already had and was able to provide in a timely manner.
What kind of relationship did/do you have with Chris and his team?
It was very good. When I reached out to them and asked for a fast turnaround, they promised we could file my petition within a month and they kept their word, which I really appreciated.
What were you doing when you found out you were approved? What was your immediate reaction? How did/will you celebrate?
I was so happy. I celebrated with my family by going on vacation. It was a great experience from start to finish.

What are you looking forward to most about moving to the US?
I want to start my own company and build more advanced products using AI and machine learning to reach out to more industries such as retail, healthcare, telecom, logistics etc.,.
What will you miss the most about your home country?
My parents and family, but I’m planning to travel and visit regularly.
What advice would you give to any immigrant considering an EB1 or who is already in the process?
One suggestion I can give is to just contact Chris and he’ll sort out the rest. The first email he sent was so detailed and full of information I just thought ‘Why didn’t I contact him sooner?’ An ordinary person can go to Chris and he’ll make them extraordinary!
