Jewelry Designer Perfects His Craft:  As a child, Saeed often heard stories from his father about the land of opportunity, the United States of America. Saeed had heard that individuals known as Aliens of Extraordinary Ability, often can pave a pathway to residing in the United States on a permanent basis, a process known as the EB1 Green Card. As a jewelry designer, director, instructor and author, Saeed possessed all the requisite qualities to become a successful EB1 Green Card Holder, as fulfilling the EB1 Category Requirements was a smooth process. As an EB1 Attorney, having a client like Saeed was a dream. He was extremely motivated and never defeated by the hurdles that laid ahead of him. We wish Saeed all the success now that he is able to fulfill his American Dream!

Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about what you do.

I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. I have been a jewelry designer, design director, instructor and author for more than 10 years ago.

Mort

How did you work your way up the ranks to reach your level and what were some of the challenges along the way.

After 8 hours working in office, I just started to learn and practice at home for 3-4 hours. Everyday for 12-15 hours, I worked hard to perfect my craft. After 2-3 years I started to teach what I learned in some institutes and universities, and then I started writing my first book to teach to more people around the world! I won first place in the first jewelry design award in my country, and then won more than 11 international design awards in Italy and Hong Kong. After each victory, I never stopped moving forward and just wanted to achieve bigger goals! In 5 years I worked very hard, wrote more than 700 pages in 2 books, and instructed more than 600 students.

Have you ever lived in the US before? If so, under what circumstances? If not, what aroused your interest in a move to the US?

I’ve never been in the US, but my father lived there for 5-6 years in the 1970s. During my childhood, my father always told me stories about US. He said, “you should go there one day son!” When I got older, I always saw the US photos, specifically Manhattan, NY or Los Angeles, CA, and I could see myself living there. I thought to myself “I should go there,” the land of opportunity! I think that made me attracted to it unconsciously.

How did you decide to pursue an EB1?

Well after some of my achievements, I heard that there was a way for people who are successful in their own career to go and live in United States, and that’s when I started to do more research about it.

What was your experience with the EB1 petition process?

It was a great and unique experience for me. When I started to prepare my documents, it was a little bit hard for me at first, because of our Persian language. I had to translate all of my non-English documents and evidences and it took long time but I was never disappointed. The best experience I had with my EB1 Visa process was the online system to upload all documents and manage my case. Every day I could see my case status easily. Another good thing was I did not have to post my printed documents via courier, which is quiet pricy and takes more time; I just simply scanned and uploaded them into a high-tech online system which was very interesting and helpful in completing the EB1 Green Card process.

What were some of the challenges you had to work on in the preparation of your case, for example evidence gathering?

The biggest challenge I had was getting my evidence because I had to translate them from Persian to English via an official translator and then upload both documents to the online system. It was so many documents – newspapers, TV shows – but I could manage them very well, of course, with the advice and help of The Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram.

What kind of relationship did/do you have Chris and his team?

It was simply amazing! Chris is the last lawyer I called! Before I found Chris, I had called over 15 different lawyers, most of which were Iranian, but after I saw Chris’ website and emailed him, I found what I was looking for! Fortunately, there was an Iranian person on the Chris’ team, Shirin, who helped me a lot during my process. Shirin was always available and answered all of my questions with emails and phone calls patiently. I would say the entire team was very professional, precise and dutiful!

What were you doing when you found out you were approved? What was your immediate reaction? How did/will you celebrate?

I was eating dinner with one of my friends when I got a call from Chris’ team. I did not expect that phone call to tell me the result because it was just 5-6 days after sending my case to USCIS, and I expected to get the result after 2 weeks! When I heard that my case was approved, I just couldn’t believe it! I couldn’t stop the tears that flowed from my eyes! I celebrated the day after with some of my friends and we had dinner and drinks together!

What are you looking forward to most about moving to the US?

I am not going to America to be average! I am going to make my dreams come true, to achieve my goals and do what I really love to do – to have my own brand in jewelry and make a great impact!

What will you miss the most about your home country?

Of course the first thing I think I will miss is my family, who always helped me and supported me a lot. The second thing I will miss is my friends, who I love a lot!

What advice would you give to any immigrant considering an EB1 or who is already in the process?

Never give up! I never dreamed about success – I worked for it! Some people dream of success while others wake up and work hard at it!
