Visa Waiver Program – ESTA

Travel to the U.S. with the Visa Waiver Program

Simplify Your Visit with ESTA

Welcome to the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram’s Visa Waiver Program (VWP) video! We’re excited to guide citizens of VWP countries through this convenient option for 90-day U.S. visits for tourism or business—no visa required. Discover how to travel securely and hassle-free!

What Is the Visa Waiver Program?

The VWP, managed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, allows eligible travelers from designated countries to visit the U.S. for up to 90 days. Check the official VWP website for the latest list of participating countries. Since 2009, all VWP travelers must obtain pre-authorization via the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) before departure, ensuring robust security while simplifying travel.

Why ESTA Matters

Post-9/11, the VWP posed security risks due to delayed traveler screening. ESTA, introduced in 2009, provides early vetting, checking databases like Interpol and U.S. agencies before you board. This protects U.S. borders while streamlining your entry process. Already have a U.S. visa? You don’t need ESTA.

Apply Safely with ESTA

Submit your ESTA application only through the official U.S. government website to protect your personal data. Unauthorized sites risk misuse and complications. An approved ESTA is valid for two years or until your passport expires, allowing multiple entries without reapplying. Renewals cancel prior authorizations.

ESTA Application Outcomes

After submitting your ESTA, expect one of three results:

  1. Immediate Approval: Cleared instantly if no issues are found in global databases, granting an “Authorized to Travel” notice. Note: CBP officers make final entry decisions upon arrival.

  2. Authorization Pending: If further review is needed, check the ESTA site for updates within 72 hours for approval or denial. Denials direct you to a U.S. Embassy.

  3. Denial: Rare but possible due to prior U.S. overstays, unpaid tickets, or criminal records. Contact us before approaching an embassy—we’ll identify issues and explore solutions.

Navigate ESTA with Confidence

Facing an ESTA denial or unsure about eligibility? Our expert team analyzes issues like overstays or minor infractions, guiding you to resolve them and secure approval. We ensure your application is error-free, maximizing your chances for a smooth U.S. visit.
