Fiancée Visa / Marriage Visa – Green Card Success Story by Steve and Johnna

Green Card Success Story by Steve and Johnna
Our names are Stephen and Johnna. This is Johnna typing! My husband, Stephen, was born and raised in England. Stephen worked for his family’s car painting shop when he lived in England, and right now he works for a Fish Bar. He would like to go back to school when he can, but is unsure for what so far. I’m a student, majoring in Medicine and minoring in Japanese.
My husband’s reason for wanting his green card was so he could be here with me. Because I have poor health, we decided it would be a better idea to live here in America for now, as a big move could cause me a lot of pain. I feel blessed to have a husband willing to make such sacrifices to be with me and hope that one day that I can repay the favor.

My husband found the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram in an online search. After learning of his amazing track record, and after a good amount of research, we decided to go with him. It helped to know that Attorney Chris Ingram had gone through the Immigration process himself.
Chris suggested obtaining Stephen’s green card through a process called an Adjustment of Status, as Stephen was already legally in the country with me; so by going through the Adjustment of Status (AOS) process my husband would be allowed to stay here with me in America instead of him having to wait in England.
From the start to the finish the green card process took about six months! We really didn’t encounter any real issues – it went rather smoothly, in my opinion.
Even though the law offices are in California and Stephen and I are in Michigan, they online case management system was great and we could see that everyone in the office was working their hardest for us, and that if we had any questions, they were there. Whenever we had our worries on the case, they were always very reassuring.
We got approved at our final interview with the USCIS! It was as if a staggering weight had been lifted off of both of our shoulders. The man at the interview said at the very beginning “Your lawyer sure did a great job! Everything we need is here. I think it’s going to be a good day.”
Stephen says he’s happiest about just plain being able to be here with me. He misses his friends and family back in England the most, especially his cats.
I would say to get a good immigration lawyer, obviously we’d recommend the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram every time to our friends. Honestly, it is possible to do this without a lawyer, but if one thing goes wrong you could find yourself facing deportation. We both agree that we would have been WAY more on edge and nervous the entirety of those six months without everyone at the office. supporting and guiding us and we were already nervous WITH their help. They really made life a lot easier for us, and we’re very grateful.
