E2 Visa Success – Luis – Dentistry
We’re delighted to have represented to Luis in his E2 Visa application. Luis’ case was quite interesting because his E2 visa business model was to come over to provide specialist dentistry services for other local dentists at multiple locations and whilst in the US he would utilize the staff of the host dentist and create additional employment for them.
It’s true to say that not all Consulates and Embassy review and approve cases in exactly the same way. Each Consulate has it’s own local protocols that they develop and follow so we have to be very mindful of this as we work with our clients on developing the type of business model that will be successful in a particular country.

I’m delighted that the Consulate approved this unique business model. Here is Luis’ story.
Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about the entities of your business
I am an Italian citizen and currently living in Guatemala City along with my family. I currently operate my business as a proprietorship and provide dental services to a number of established and currently operating Dental businesses in the surrounding areas that are in need of my professional services as an orthodontist.
How did you decide to pursue and E2 Visa?
What made me decide to pursue the E2 Business Investment Visa was my desire to attempt to expand my currently operating business in Guatemala. The US has strict Dental License requirements for which I was able to fulfill and become a licensed Dentist in California, that allowed me to work in the USA as a Dentist where I currently operate a branch of my business. Since my operations in Guatemala City did not fulfill the L-1A requirements, I felt that the E2 visa would be the best fit for me and potentially raise the revenues overall of my business entities.
What was your experience with the E2 Visa process? Did you ever consider giving up? What was your motivation to keep pressing on?
The E2 visa process was overall, a very straightforward and smooth process, whereas I was able to provide Attorney Ingram with the documents that he requested and ultimately put together a strong application.
What kind of relationship did/do you have with Chris (and his team)?
I chose to move forward with Attorney Ingram and his team because they are Immigration experts and were confident in the craft. This same confidence was shown to me through their work, which made for an overall smooth process.
What was your immediate reaction upon being approved at the U.S embassy by the adjudicating officer? How did you celebrate?
To make a long story short, I was very satisfied with my outcome of being approved for 5 years. I knew that my case was a difficult one because I currently only work part-time here in the USA for my company, however, I could not be more happy with the result.
What are you looking forward to most about your move to the US?
My ultimate goal during relocation would be to obtain permanent residence here in the US and I feel that the E2 Visa is a great source to prepare the family and I to apply and make the transfer to the US.
What do you think you will miss the most when you leave your home abroad?
A few of the things that I will miss most when I am in the USA are my family, relatives, close friends, and especially Lake Atitlan.
What advice would you give to any immigrant considering starting the E2 Visa application or who is already in the process?
The most important advice that I could give someone looking to start the E2 Visa application process would be to ensure that you have an excellent lawyer and supporting employees on the case to make for a smooth and efficient process.
