Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about what you do.
I come from Greece and I have been working as an executive at multinational banking institutions in the Middle East and North Africa, Europe and the US.
How did you work your way up the ranks to reach your level and what were some of the challenges along the way?
Through hard work, passion and commitment I was able to reach my goals and climb the ladder to become a CxO suite executive at big financial institutions. I strongly believe that being passionate about what you are doing and having set your goals early will lead you to success. Furthermore having a global perspective and being able to listen to people from different backgrounds and cultures is essential.
Have you ever lived in the US before? If so, under what circumstances? If not, what aroused your interest in a move to the US?
I lived, studied and worked in the US back in the 1990s. I earned my bachelors and masters degrees in the US and then I worked at a multinational consulting firm in Chicago before I moved back to Europe to do my military service.
How did you decide to pursue an EB1 Visa?
I have been informed about the EB1 visa option through a mutual friend who had a great experience dealing with Chris Ingram. From this referral, I began working with the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram. I worked closely with him and his team to make this success happen.
What was your experience with the EB1 petition process?
Very positive experience – the team was very helpful and showed courtesy and understanding.
What were some of the challenges you had to work on in the preparation of your case, for example, evidence gathering?
Gathering all supporting documents was a challenge at some point in time but I was able to gather all the required documents in the end.
What kind of relationship did/do you have with Attorney Chris and his team?
I have built a very strong professional relationship with Chris and his team and I thank them for their efforts to lead me into obtaining the immigrant visa.
What were you doing when you found out you were approved? What was your immediate reaction? How did/will you celebrate?
I was extremely happy as I was able to once again obtain the green card but not only for me but for my family as well. Very happy and celebrated accordingly.
What are you looking forward to most about moving to/living in the US?
By moving to the US my kids will be able to enjoy the benefits of being a US permanent resident. Also being able to work and study in the US without any visa requirements. Furthermore I will be able to continue my global career in banking and join a global institution based in the US.
What will you miss the most about your home country?
The weather and beautiful scenery along with friends and family. But we will be able to visit Greece frequently on holidays.
What advice would you give to any immigrant considering an EB1 or who is already in the process?
To stick to the process and the ultimate goal and not be discouraged by any delays or unfortunate situations that may come up – just be committed to the journey and work with Chris and his team closely.
