EB1 – Kuchipudi Dancer
EB1 Success Story: Our client celebrates dancing her way to an EB1 green card. Our client came to the US to study for a PHD in Bio-Technology but all of her life she has been a Kuchipudi dancer having been trained by the best Gurus in India. In the Kuchipudi world our client is quite a celebrity. We decided to see if we could share all of our client’s accomplishments in dancing with US Immigration to see if they would consider giving her an EB1 green card based on her extraordinary abilities in dancing and having put the case together to our delight they said yes. We could not be happier for our client as she is an awesome person and a great dancer who can bring a lot to the cultural diversity to America and bring joy to those who are very familiar with this art form and introduce new dancers to this art form too. We wish her all the very best. If you’d like us to consider your talents for an EB1 green card please call us today on 760 754 7000 Direct.

I am from India. I am a performer of Kuchipudi (Kuchipudi, is a dance/theatre performance tradition from the South Eastern part of India). In addition, I also have a master’s degree in Bio-Technology from India and a PhD from the United States in Genetics.
After receiving my PhD in 2011, I wanted to seriously pursue my performance career in the US. Since I was with a student visa (F1), I had certain restrictions with pursuing a professional career in performance in the US. Without a permanent resident status, I would not be eligible for certain performance opportunities in art festivals, as well as grants. I also had restrictions with the amount of international travel I could undertake with my F1 Visa status. I decided to pursue for a Green Card in the EB1 Category in the Performing arts. Finding a law firm with experience in, applying in the Performing arts Category was the biggest caveat. The performing arts category is very difficult to satisfy and also requires a good Attorney who can present a very convincing case. It is one thing to have achievements, but another to present them as a clear, succinct, unique and a convincing story for the immigration officials. I spent almost about 6 months looking for Attorneys and law firms which had processed cases like mine. I found Attorney Ingram’s Law Firm on one of my searches on the Internet. After reading the success stories of other clients, I was convinced and retained them.
It’s not possible to put into words the significance of getting a green card. Getting an EB1 green card is for life, which means it can never be taken away unless you leave the US for more than a year without giving USCIS notice or if you commit serious crime(s). Since no self-respecting EB1 green card winner would ever do that you never have to worry about US Immigration again. After five years in green card status it gets better because you can apply for US Citizenship and even then sponsor immediate relatives over to the US. The best part about having an EB1 green card, we think, is that you never have to worry about finding anyone to sponsor you for anything you’re completely free to live the American Dream you’re way.
Right from the beginning, the process and communication from the law firm was very organized. The case is processed electronically, so that the client is also involved in the process. It is very transparent and interactive. When I was hearing stories of case rejections from my friends, I was a bit worried, if I had taken the correct decision by applying in the EB-1 Category. Lindsey Laird, from the law firm who was handling my case would always say that my case was a strong one. I was not fully convinced then, but after the approval I am strongly convinced about their assessments regarding my case.
I am in the process of registering a small dance/ theatre ensemble. I am excited about the new opportunities for participation in the festivals. I am also looking forward to engage in teaching activities.
