Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about what you do?
I grew up in India and moved to New Zealand in 1999. I graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from India. In New Zealand, I obtained a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Auckland. Currently, I am working as a Project Director with extensive experience in leading expert-level projects on time.
I am passionate about social impact and using business as a tool for positive change. As Project Director of a $120 million (NZD) housing project, the main focus has been to replace the traditional timber framing with a rapid construction methodology. I am also working on a greenfield project of a 50MW solar and wind Hybrid power plant.
Why do you want to live in America? What’s so special about America?
As a scholar and executive, I have been actively engaged in identifying and developing innovation and new technologies in support of ongoing and new forest-based economic development activities, evident through my work over the years. My aim is to leave a legacy that others can benefit from and build upon. In addition to having access to the thriving environment that the US has consistently provided for the possibilities created by the richness and freedom of its society.
What was your visa choice and how did you come to that decision?
After my initial meeting with Karol, I firmly believed that I had the credentials and qualifications for the EB1 category.

How would you describe your experience in working with us?
I had an amazing caseworker, Camille who patiently heard all my queries and provided all the answers. I have built a very strong professional relationship with Chris’ team, and I thank them for their efforts to lead me to obtain the EB1 approval.
What were some of the evidence challenges you had to work on in the preparation of your case?
Initially, I thought it would be difficult to collect all documentation (about 400 to 500 pages). However, I started to collect all that was required in sequential order and once I began to work on it, I found it was very easy.
What were you doing when you found out you were approved? What was your immediate reaction? How did/will you celebrate?
I received a phone call from Camille at 3 AM New Zealand Time about the outcome of my EB1 Application. I was so elated I didn’t mind the early morning call!
