US Immigration Newsletter November 2009
November has been a great month for getting cases approved so we’re delighted that our hard work and perseverance continues to pay off.
In 2009 US Immigration decided to really tighten up on granting visas and changed many of its visa application procedures, demanding even more documentation with visa applications. In response to this we improved our schedule of required documents for our applications and so far our success rate has not been effected.
As 2010 looms large it’s all about getting plans in place now so that we can meet our client’s deadlines. This is also going to be a big year for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. It’s getting very close now. Whatever your plans we’d love to hear from you so we can get the ball rolling in good time in order to carefully craft your case for success.
Direct to Green Card for Top Professionals:
This year we have been extremely successful in getting green cards for our professional clients working in Entertainment, Commerce and Media.
We had Kim Forgham who worked in advertizing and Paul Butler who works in training and development for whom we previously obtained an E2 visa. We also had former Miss Ireland Diana Sayers approved for her O1 Visa and we’re currently working on getting Diana’s green card very soon, in fact we should know in a few days. We also had an actor from the hit TV show The Tudors approved for his green card just last week. We’re looking for those of our newsletter readers who are working in the Entertainment, Media and Commerce industries. We really want to hear from you because US Immigration has been consistently approving our submissions for green cards. Admittedly, we’re working these cases very hard indeed, but it’s paying off for our clients. Just imagine qualifying for a green card as your first visa. Well this is what we’re experiencing virtually every week. If you want to know whether you have what it takes to apply directly for a green card then click on this link for our checklist.
Intra-Company Transfers:
Over the years we’ve helped many clients expand their businesses into the US and either open up a branch or their foreign company has purchased a US company and made it a branch. Our client Ross Christieson opened up a branch of his company and qualified for an L-1A visa. I posted a video about his story in last month’s Newsletter. The beauty of successfully getting an L1-A visa, bearing in mind that some managers and executives are routinely transferred to their US branches, is that L-1A visa holders qualify for green cards very quickly. In Ross Christieson’s case, having successfully applied for L-1A visa and subsequent extensions, we recently filed for his green card and just in the last couple of days his and his family’s green card application was approved. Ross was so kind when he sent us a huge gift basket as an expression of his family’s thanks.
Love is in the air:
We still have many clients excited about their wedding plans for 2010. This is one area of immigration where you really cannot start too soon. It’s amazing how time really flies and this year we’ve run into some difficulties where some clients started the immigration process too late and who now are spending weeks biting their nails wondering if they will be approved in time. No matter how often I tell clients to start early there are those who hire us much later than we’d like. So if you are planning a wedding for any time in 2010 please allow yourselves at least 8 -9 months to get your immigration plans in order. To find out more go to our Fiance(e) and Marriage section.
Come On – Join in the Celebrations:
Our office is a place of weekly celebrations because every week we have the pleasure of celebrating the success of someone getting their green card approved, or someone having just stepped out of the Embassy with their visa stamped into their passports. So let’s keep the celebrations flowing with you – call us to get the ball rolling on your case. You owe it to yourself to go for it. If you’re not sure how, then get in touch with us so we can show you the way. We’d love to hear from you today.
