EB1 – Liron Blogs His Way into a Green Card

EB1 Green Card Success - Liron, Blogger - South Africa

EB1 Green Card Success – Liron, Blogger – South Africa

We get some really interesting EB1 green card cases as you can imagine, but Liron’s case was special.

Liron (aka “The Techie Guy” is an IT Consultant from South Africa and rather than keep a very low nerdy profile like any self-respecting tech, Liron decided to write blogs and obtain guest appearances on TV news channels just to get an opportunity to talk about his favorite subject – I.T.

As a result of Liron’s efforts he became very well known and highly respected in his field and is now the “go to” person for many news outlets and multinational companies who want Liron to cover their product launches.

Just in this week I’ve posted a story about an Indian dancer, Hot Rod fabricator and today an IT Blogger.

Liron’s Story

Tell me about where you are from and a little bit about your career and what you do.

I am a Technology Blogger from South Africa and an IT Consultant. I have been in the IT industry for over 20 years having worked in South Africa, UK and Israel.

Have you ever lived in the US before? If so, under what circumstances? If not, what aroused your interest in a move to the US?

No. The move to the USA was fueled by the opportunity in technology and the sheer size of the market that I could engage with. This, coupled with the fact that South African opportunities are limited for my kids, drove me to relocate the family.

How did you decide to pursue an EB1?

With the help of the team from the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram who carefully described each step, each category and each option until we were sure.

What was your experience with the EB1 petition process? Did you ever consider giving up? What was your motivation to keep pressing on?

Make no mistake, the process is draining. It is emotionally draining and a roller coaster of up and downs. Got to keep the eye on the prize and that it will be worth it in the end.

What kind of relationship did/do you have Chris (and his team)?

Incredible one. There was never a client/ lawyer relationship and really felt like the entire team was genuinely keen to get me that visa. When there were issues, it was like a dog with a bone – they weren’t letting it go and took on the fight and won !

What were you doing when you found out you were approved? What was your immediate reaction? How did you celebrate?

I kept checking that website for the approval until one am South African time. No word. I then woke up to incredible email from the team saying approved ! I read that mail several times before waking up my wife (mainly so she can check to make sure I read it correctly). Took a while to sink in….

What are you looking forward to most about moving to the US?

Everything being new and a nice shake-up with new experiences

What will you miss the most about living in South Africa?

The people.

What advice would you give to any immigrant considering an EB1 or who is already in the process?

Keep at it. Remember the reason you are embarking on this and remind yourself of that reason every time there is a set back or new documents required or new hoops to jump through. If it was easy everyone would do it! But you are in great hands with Chris Ingram and his team and I couldn’t have done this with any other firm.

 Ok, now it’s your turn.
