Marc a recording and international performing artist was touring the US on a P visa when his band’s popularity exploded, requiring his services for longer than his P visa allowed. Marc came to the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram in need of an O1 visa for Aliens of Extraordinary Ability.
When Marc retained us, he had about two months before the expiry of his P visa, and with two weeks required for processing through US Immigration and Citizenship Services (USCIS), we had mere weeks to work through an extensive amount of evidence. Marc’s profile included appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Late Show with David Letter and Jimmy Kimmel Live, as well as performances in elite venues such as the Hollywood Bowl and Radio City Music Hall in the US and the Wembley Arena in the UK.
These performances, as well a large amount of published material about Marc and his band established him firmly as alien of extraordinary ability. The American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada, which provided a letter on behalf of Marc, were also of the opinion that Marc was a musician of extraordinary ability.
As an O1 applicant, Marc was required to secure employment through an agency. Though this was a simple enough task for a musician of his stature, the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram had to work close to Marc and his agent to secure the appropriate documentation that Marc’s work was in demand and he had a tour schedule in front of him.
Due to the cooperative efforts from Marc, his agent and the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram, we were able to secure an O1 visa for Marc, and his status was adjusted from a P Visa holder to an O1 visa holder. Though this provided Marc the status he required to remain in the US, when he returned to the UK, Marc again required our services to attend an Embassy interview and get his visa stamped into passport. We were able to walk Marc through his Embassy interview, and he now has an O1 visa that allows him to travel in and out the US without difficulties as his performance schedule requires.
