EB5 Green Card Part 8 – Summary of Investment Options
Welcome to the Law Offices of Chris M. Ingram. We are delighted that you have joined us for Part 8 in our video presentation series on the EB5 Investment-Based Green Card. In this final presentation we’re going to run through the Investment Options in summary. Also, we’ll outline about how EB5 investors are able to get all of their investment monies back within 2-5 years. Ok – let’s get started.
The Four Main EB5 Green Card Options
Remember, there are four different options you can choose from in order to get an EB5 Green Card for you and your family.
- Investing $500,000 into a Federally Designated Regional Center (FDRC), which allows you to make that initial investment, without worrying the development itself day- to-day.
- You can invest $500,000 to start your own business in a Targeted Employment Area, and manage the business for two years to make sure that it creates ten full-time American jobs.
- You can invest $1 Million to start a business anywhere in the United States, and manage the business for two years to make sure that it creates ten full-time American jobs.
- You can rescue a “troubled business” by investing $500K or One Million Dollars to turn it around.
Getting Your Money Back
By far the most popular EB5 investment option is option one – investing into a Regional Center where all the investor have to do is choose an investment project, make the investment and then progress to securing their green card. Most Regional Centers will want to buy you out within 2-5 years and thus you would get your full investment back. Bear in mind, that as with any investment opportunity, if the enterprise fails you could lose your investment altogether.
If you are investing in your own business then after the two-year qualifying period you can sell your business and keep your green card status. Thus, the investment you make in securing your green card can be short term and you could, if all goes well get all of your investment monies back plus a little interest too.
We hope you enjoyed this video series and found it a great resource. We look forward to discussing your case in detail over a free consultation so please give us a call soon.
